Systemic silicosis associated with plasma Cell proliferation and B lymphocyte monoclonality

چکیده
Importance: Silica dust has long been known as an occupational hazard, primarily causing pulmonary fibrosis. There is a higher incidence of neoplastic diseases associated with silica exposure, mainly lung cancer. Observation: We present a unique case of a patient with pulmonary silicosis who developed diffuse lymphadenopathy followed by features of plasma cell proliferation with B lymphocyte monoclonality. Conclusion: We propose to add systemic lymphadenopathy, plasma cell proliferation and B lymphocytes monoclonality to the list of silicosis complications. Relevance: In the epidemic outbreaks of silicosis, as we have seen in Israel, a malignant transformation of inflammatory reaction might be encountered more often.

Evaluation of Specific Purified TCR Effect on the Immunoregulatory Potential of TGF-beta
Transforming growth factor beta (TGF-b) is a mediator released by nearly all cell types. It has suppression activity on the immune system, but exactly how this effect is carried out is not clear. Previous experiments showed that IgG interacts with or carriers active TGF-b, that could suppresses cytotoxic T-cell responses to an immunogenic tumor in mice. Since T cell receptor (TCR) has structura...
متن کاملMonoclonality in B-lymphoproliferative disorders detected at the DNA level.
A new method was developed for detection of monoclonality at the DNA level in B-lymphoproliferative disease using the polymerase chain reaction and consensus primers for the V and J regions of the immunoglobulin gene. Monoclonality was detected in DNA from 15 of 15 clonal B-lymphoblastoid cell lines and from 19 of 23 cases of B-lymphocyte neoplasia, but not from any of 16 normal T-lymphocyte cl...

The purpose of this study was to determine changes in hematological and plasma indices of Common Carp Cyprinus carpio with regard to age, sex and hormonal treatment. Sixty fish were used to assess the age factor. Also, 20 fish including female and male were assigned to determine blood indices with regard to sex and hormonal treatment. The pituitary gland extract was used as hormone for males an...

متن کاملEffect of Myeloma-Derived Microparticles on in Vitro Proliferation and Viability of Alloimmune Human Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells
Background: Microparticles (MPs) are small vesicles released from the cell membrane. Accordingly, these contain active molecules to mediate biological processes, including cell proliferation and cell cycle progression. The fusion of myeloma cell lines with immunized B lymphocytes is a critical step of hybridoma technology. MPs modulate lymphoproliferation, thereby facilitating B cell expansion ...
